What Aventerre Is

We didn't build another way to swipe. We built a reason to look up.

Aventerre brings together a small, carefully considered group of single adults, generally 30 and older, for a few days away. Dinners run long because no one is checking the time. Someone refills your glass before you notice it's empty. A stranger asks the second question, not just the first, and the conversation goes somewhere neither of you expected.

No algorithm decides who you sit next to. No itinerary is built around forced icebreakers. Just a beautiful place, a curated guest list, and enough time for something real to happen, however it happens.

How Aventerre Is Different

We review every request personally. Each journey's guest list is curated by hand, for balance, character, and good company. Identity verification and a criminal background check are completed before any invitation is issued.

The Journeys

Each Aventerre journey unfolds somewhere worth traveling for — some a long weekend closer to home, others a week somewhere further. Exact locations and dates are shared privately, with those who've received an invitation.

Days are unhurried and lightly planned. A guided walk through a town worth slowing down in. A cooking class, hands in the flour, eating what you made. A tasting at a vineyard, hosted by the people who grow it. An evening at the opera house. Nothing is compulsory, and there is always an afternoon with nothing in it.

Aventerre is currently accepting requests for our founding journeys. Spaces are limited and offered by invitation only.

Questions

A few things people ask before applying.

What does this cost, and what's included?

Each journey is priced individually depending on destination and length, generally from $7,000 per person for a five-night journey, or from $4,500 for a shorter three-night journey. Every journey includes a private room, all meals, ground transport within the destination, and hosted experiences, along with the time we spend personally curating each guest list. Flights to and from the destination are arranged separately by each guest. Exact pricing is confirmed directly with applicants who are invited to join.

What happens if I'm not selected?

Not every application will be right for a given journey, and that isn't a reflection of you. If you'd like us to keep your application on file for future journeys, just say so and we'll be in touch when one looks like a fit.

How many people are on each journey?

Journeys are intentionally small — never more than fourteen guests. Small enough that everyone shares a table, large enough that no one feels singled out.

Can I apply with a friend?

Yes. Mention it in your application and we'll do our best to consider you together, though each of you will still apply and be confirmed individually.

How do you keep this safe and considerate?

Every application is reviewed personally, and everyone we move forward with has a conversation with us before anything goes further. Before anyone is confirmed for a journey, we verify their identity against a government ID, complete a criminal background check, and search the sex offender registry. All of it is finished before an invitation is issued and before any payment is requested — not after a place is held. No one is confirmed until every check is clear. A host is present throughout the journey itself.

Some things, like relationship status, are self-reported, as they are anywhere — representing yourself honestly is a condition of joining, and it's the same good judgment and respect we ask everyone to bring to the table.

Is this a dating app?

No. There's no swiping, no matching, and no algorithm. Aventerre gathers a small, considered group of people for a shared weekend, curated so that everyone feels like a peer rather than an outlier: what happens between any two people is entirely up to them, not something we engineer.

What if I need to cancel?

Once you're confirmed for a journey, we'll walk you through cancellation and payment terms in full before you commit to anything.

Do I need to be based in the U.S. to apply?

Aventerre isn't limited to the U.S. If you're applying from elsewhere, please email hello@aventerre.co before applying.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. As a condition of joining a journey, guests are required to carry travel insurance, including trip cancellation/interruption coverage and, for international journeys, travel health coverage. We'll share specific guidance once you're confirmed.

How are destinations chosen, and where are we going?

We choose settings for the kind of experience they create — small, characterful, walkable places suited to long dinners and unhurried time together, both domestic and international. Exact locations and dates are shared privately with guests once they've been invited, not published in advance.

I kept watching friends delete the apps, redownload them, and get disappointed all over again. I built Aventerre on a simple belief: traveling together tests compatibility in a way no profile ever could, and nothing beats what comes out of it — love, or just real friendship.

Raised in the Caribbean and educated at Yale and the London School of Economics, I've since lived in seven countries across four continents and spent years working as a travel advisor before founding Aventerre. Long before that I was the one who gathered people — dinners for friends who hadn't met each other yet, trips that wouldn't have happened otherwise — and Aventerre is that instinct made deliberate. I speak Spanish comfortably and get by in Italian. Wherever a journey takes us, chances are I've already found my own way there.
